Fujistu 9600 with Octel s.4 programming

Just wondering if there are any users of the above systems. I am experiencing a problem in one of our offices.
A caller will call into the auto attendent; hear the greeting; dial the extension they wish to reach and get a busy signal - even though the person is not on the phone. It doesn't happen all the time.
 
I'm familiar with the Fuji but not the Octel and it sounds like an Octel problem to me, is it certain extensions or any extension intermittently?
 
It happens to several extensions intermittenly. I have contacted Avtex(vm vendor). They of course say it is the phone system, Fujistu says its vm...etc.etc.etc. You said you were familiar with the Fujitsu switch??
 
I'm certified on the 9600. Worked on an XL for over 2 years.

How many ports do you have on the Octel to dial out to the extensions? Maybe it's a legitimate busy on the ports?
 
I have 8 ports which should be more than plenty. I have not yet shown an all ports busy condition on the Octel.
 
It's never the simple solution, is it.

Okay, what's the config here? Do all calls to your LDN go to the auto-attd which then prompts the caller to enter an ext? Do they have to enter that ext within a time frame before being prompted for other options or can they do it at any time? Is there an access code to enter the ext? What kind of busy do they hear? Do the ext they are trying have vm boxes on the Octel? Most important, can you replicate the problem when testing?
 
Sorry so long to post again. I reset some system parameters and think I might be on the right track. Have you noiced the new forum for Fujitsu? Keep an eye out and maybe we will meet again?
