FTSearch and Attachments

How does FTSearch search attached documents?
DocA = 4 instances in document & 5 instances in attachment
DocB = 8 instances in document & 0 instances in attachment

How does FTSearch handle these documents?
In the search results relevance, will DocA appear first or DocB? Does FTSearch see DocA with 9 instances (total) or 4 (for document) + 1 (for attachment) for a total of five (5)?
