I have ONE user who cant get to an FTP site through her browser. How can i fix this. The FTP option under TOOLS is enabled.

Is this one ftp site or all ftp sites that this user can't open? What is the error message you get, if any?
What version of IE is this user on?

Let's start with these and go from there ;-) In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?

We recently had a mainframe crash and after rebuilding, have had users access certain folders on the mainframe by using FTP.

The error message is the error message your normally get if a site cant be found.

What I did notice was that on the user's pc under IE, in TOOLS ... INTERNET OPTIONS ... ADVANCE, ... she doesnt have the option to enable FTP folders. I have the same version and the option is there.

She doesn't have the option 'enable folder view for FTP sites'? Does she have the option 'Use Web based FTP'?

Check out this site for more info:

One more reason I can think of is a firewall. She doesn't have any firewall software installed, does she? That could block FTP traffic. In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?
