Using ISA as proxy server. FTP is allowed.

Command line FTP fails on "open ftp.symantec.com" with "host unreachable"

If I browse to the same ftp site with Explorer, I have no problem. Explorer is configured to use the proxy setting for FTP.

Is there something I need to do to configure the command prompt FTP program to use the proxy settings?

It could be a DNS issue. Have you tried connecting via the IP address

type this from the command prompt (not the ftp prompt)

ftp 206.204.212.72

Thanks for the suggestion, but same result. I can use a browser to go to other such as Google, Symantec, etc. I'm kind of stumped on this one. I think this must have something to do with the proxy server. Does the command prompt FTP program need more information to work through the proxy server? The proxy server has FTP enabled. There are no other rules that deny FTP.
