What is the best method to securely and safely implement a FTP server on SBS 2003 without ISA. I have open port 21 on router and set forwarding to SBS 2003.
I have use Cerberus FTP server on XP but never used FTP on SBS 2003.

Best way is to not use it.

what is your goal? If you just need a way for customers to be able to download or upload files then I would suggest using ASP. You can password protect the pages and encrypt the connections with SSL. It is MUCH more secure and easy to implement. A search on Tek-Tips should return sample code I have posted on this before.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
