Hi all,
I'm certain this must have been addressed before, but searching has proved futile so far.
When IE6 logs into a restricted FTP site, the username and password is sent cleartext. Not exactly secure, but acceptable for simple senarios, HOWEVER, what isn't acceptable is the statusbar!
If you try downloading a large file, during the transfer the status cheerfully tell you that it's "Opening usernameassword@ftp.anysite.com". Now sending the username/password clear is one thing, but advertising your credentials to the world looking over your shoulder is just madness!
I've looked through the Advanced Options, but I can't find a way to turn this off. Can anyone tell me how switch this message off? (I'm sure one of those DOH! things...)
TIA !
