i run a website which requires slight changes daily, i am looking for a way to automatically change a line in a specific html file sequencially every day (the line includes a date which is incrimented) i was wondering how i should do this, i have made a batch file which uploads the files automatically once i have made the changes, but it would be nice if it could all be done automatically, thanks in advance

There are several third party tools that will do that, however as you already have a working batchfile solution. You could schedule a task to run each day at a specific time.

Take a look at:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks

no, what i need is something which will automatically update my website's homepage, the homepage changes slightly day to day, so a few filenames are different, but the filenames are in fact dates, i need those dates to change

Can you not use javascript code to generate the filename each day within the web page (ask in the Javascript forum if you need help with this), main problem is it won't work on browsers without JS enabled.

You could write something in a programming language to do this. Try perl, it works well with HTML.
