ftp to a linux server

Hello,

This is the first time i'm using ftp from access and i need a little help.I have a file(1k in size) on a linux server. If i transfer it on my pc and open it with wordpad i can read this file.

I have set my ip address on the ftp in ms access. I can see all directories and files (from access) of my linux server...however when i try to link to required file i'm having a bad ile name or number error. The required file does not have a txt extension.Can anyone please help.
