I'm running MS Proxy 2.0, only webproxy enabled (because I don't want to use additional client software)
HTTP and HTTPS traffic runs well through IE,
but all FTP traffic returns

12111 The FTP session was terminated

It seems that FTP traffic doesn't run through MS Proxy

any ideas ?

Basic check first - in IE settings, under connections-LANsettings-advanced, have you selected 'Use same proxy setting for all protocols'?

Next - are you behind a firewall - is port21 open?

Do you have a login/anonymous access to the ftp site?

Sorry if you've already checked the above.

Good luck

Stuart

I've already checked all of the above...

Can it be done ? Is there somebody who got this working in the first place ?

For example :
If you are behind a MS proxy server,
NOT using the wsp client (so only webproxy/IE settings),
try to access this file :

ftp://ftp.zdnet.com/acq/downloads/pub/windows/internet/filesharing/iMeshV22.exe

It works when I turn of proxy in Internet Explorer, and bypass the firewall, but obviously I don't want to do this in real life so... ---------------------------------------------------------------------
