From the ftp ssis package running every 10 minutes, grabbing one to 4 fours small xml files on a remote server, would it be possible to auto populate tables when the xml arrives, tables in the same db, by parsing child elements from the xml? can sql2005 perform all this in one stored procedure and can that procedure be called from the ssis package?

Hope that wasn't confusing, thanks

Yes. You can load the xml files into staging tables using the BULK INSERT command in T/SQL then using the OPENXML commands you can parse the data and update the tables.
