Hello. I have a Solaris 7 E5500 and my requirement is to create an FTP account that can put 2 files in a certain directory once a week. The user should not have any access to the rest of the FS, just the directory he/she is in. Here is the tricky part. I am not allowed to do this with anonymous. I have created the user, set the home directory, and set the shell to /bin/false. But when testing as user, I can still wander around the FS.

I have come to the conclusion that I am going to have to utlize the chroot command, but I don't really know anything about it. Can anyone give me some sort of syntax or example on how to use the chroot? THe man pages did't really help me out too much.

Thanks in advance for the help!

One more thing. I am not allowed at this time to install wu-ftpd or some of the other good ones. I am VERY restricted as to what I can do. Some of you all may have good ideas as to who I work for now. :-0
