FTP server

I am having trouble setting upmy girlfriends computer so that she can access my FTP server. She has a dial-up connection and I have most of my experience with cable modems.

Her WS-FTP or Smart FTP times out while logging in and gave an unknown error when I boosted the time spent logging in.

Any suggestions? Much appreciated.

1. Can she ping the IP address of the FTP server?

2. Can you connect from the command line FTP.EXE?

3. Is she running the XP firewall or Zonealarm or another firewall type program?

Those should get you started...

Thanx for the reponse. As it turned out the ISP that the FTP site was located on BLOCKS everyone save for their own subscribers

Good suggestions though.
