FTP Server setup. Need help configuring access.

Need help setting up FTP server

Right now, when I ftp to my server it gives the message:

530 This FTP server is anonymous only.

I'm running SuSE 8.0 with 8.1 updates. I've selected vsftp and it's running. I can ftp to the IP over the web and login anonymously and can see the files on the server.

I need to be able to setup accounts for people to login and give specific access.

Do I use the same service, do I need to install additional services/software. How do I go about configuring.
