Ftp script

Hi All,
I am new to unix scripting. I want a help. I have two different servers were i have to ftp a file from one server to other server. I am able to loggin into one server directly,where for other server I have to assign the port number. I am assiging it in this way server=$1 29. I want to check is it right way of assining. Any help with the ftp script will be great.

In moving a file from one server(s1) to other server(s2).
I have a remote server were I have to mention the port number manully and port number is 29(for s2).I want to know How can I assign the port number with server as a variable.I have a script which ftp's a file to other servers(not s2) which was programmed by other person and is being used from many days is working succesfully.But the script is not working for this server properly(s2).

In the ftp man page have a look at the open command.
