Hi,
Is it possible to permit a specific IP-address access to the ftpd deamon, and all other IP-address are not allowed to ftp to the AIX server?

Previous response it correct - obtain and install tcp_wrappers which then allows you to define the IP's that are allowed to use ftp (or other programs as defined) via the /etc/hosts.allow file.

Free, simple, easy, worth the little effort and a great policing tool.

Following the thread, I've managed to download the TCP files and abel to install it. My question is, how do I configure and run the application.

Thanks in advance

Thanks guys...

It's indead realy easy to install and use

Hi rneve!

Nice, that you found the docs for this software.

Can you give me a hint, where I can find some documentation
about configuring the program??????

Thanx in advance.

Forget my last posting.

A look into: /usr/local/lib/tcp_wrappers-7.6/README
seems to be useful. :)

Bye!
