I am still running Raptor 6.5.2 and am having problems with two new systems that use ftp to push orders and order status reports back and forth to each other. The system on the inside can push just fine to the outside. However when the system (an entirely different one than than I run on the inside) tries to push the order status reports back to the inside I can see the handshake being made ( I sniffed it), it logs as a successful ftp in my logs and nothing comes through. I suspect it has something to do with the data port selected by the outside system has anybody had a simular problem? Thanks.

Hey MikeReffalt,

Sounds like an interesting one, From what I can see you have a few different options.

1. create a forward filter to all only FTP traffic from the outside server to the inside server and vice versa to pass straight through the firewall, this will not affect any other FTP traffic.
2. Do some more checking of the packets on the external interface, you can also run “tracepkt” from the command prompt. It is located in the bin/ directory. This will log every packet that the Raptor drops, it should give you a much better idea of what is going on.
3. Create a service redirect for incoming FTP traffic to go to the FTP server, FTP traffic that is started on a workstation on the internal network will still be able to receive it data back, but any new FTP Traffic will be sent to the internal FTP server.

Good luck,
