I can not access my ftp site with an ftp client but I can via the browser. The browser is not gonna work for me though because I need to automate access via a batch file.
Any ideas?

Is the FTP Server on the standard Port 21? Is your FTP client pointing at the correct port. Have you got your client setting to use Annoymous Access, and the server not?

Need some more info to help sort your issue.

What client is it aswell?

Hope this Helps.

I am using smartftp client right now but am having the same problem with all of the clients that I have tried so far. I am using port 21 on the client and on the server side. No I am not using anonymous access at all on either the client or the server side.

What dose you browsers input look like ? I have 2 Samba ftp's runing at home if I use Ie I type
ftp://username:pasword@wanip/
I use Ws_ftp to connect and have never had a problem.

What is the error you receive.
In the URL anything after the top level domain is case sensitive. (.com/tech is different from .com/Tech

Sorry if I missed the point but XP doesn't load an FTP service by default. You have to add it.
Add/Remove -- Window's Component -- (highlight) Internet Info Services -- [Details] -- [] FTP Service

This is happening on a computer that uses FTP regularly to transfer files to other locations. I can actually access the site via the browser but that is not gonna work for me because I need to integrate this site into an existing batch file that uses the above ftp client. I have tried different ftp client but to no avail. I am using a proxy but have verified with the proxy admin that no static entries are necessary for an outbound connection to pass through with an ftp client. Traceroute looks ok also, I have placed the output from it below...
