I have a problem using ftp between my HP-UX 10.20 and a NT 4.0 Server.
I try to transfer about 7000 files using ftp.
mput * procures me an error message : "arguments too long"

any idea ??

Thanks,

Babass

Tar the whole mess on your UX machine and then do a put to your NT machine

Tar -cvf tared_file /source_files_dir

Thanks for the answer,

I did a tar, but I can't read it under NT. It only read 1 file in the archive.
Do you know a good utility to uncompress the tar under NT ??

Toots,

pkzip handles tar files Mike
