FTP id not working on Sol 7 server

Hello everyone, I have a sol 7 server that has an existing ftp id on it that works great. I have created another ftpid on the same server and can not get it to recognize my passwd or username when i try to ftp into the box. I know that it cant be a f/w issue since the ftpid that has/is been working on the server can log in just fine. Has anyone ever ran across this issue before? and if so, can someone please lend a helpful tip on how to resolve this?
