Ftp Header Problem.

Hi

I am working on sun intel platform and i want that the ftp header shud not be displayed when i do ftp to sun intel box.for e.g if i do ftp i get the following msg

Connected to xyz.com.
220 xyz FTP server (SunOS 5.8) ready.
User (xyz.comnone)):

I dont want the first 2 lines to appear when i do ftp.Can anyone help me on this......

Hi,

No way you can hide those 2 lines. But if you want to hide you OS version number you can create a file in /etc/default/ftpd. Insert :

BANNER=""

save it.
