I have nothing but trouble when I try to use IE to FTP. I make sure that the "Enable folder view for FTP sites" is checked and then either connect to the following address types ftp://host.domain.com/
ftp://user@host.domain.com/

It hangs for me 9 times out of 10 and only rarely do I get the logon screen. What is the problem? Am I the only one that experiences this frustration?

Someone said IE gets confused whether you are still logged in or not but this is a Monday morning when my PC has been off all weekend and I do not have any open connections.

Thank U!

Some ftp problems were fixed in Service Pack 2, if you haven't already, try downloading and applying it.

I should have mentioned, I do have SP2.

I have to say I never use IE for ftp, but that's no help I guess. Have you tried the repair option for IE Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs select Internet Explorer etc and choose repair.

Thanks paulwood - I didn't know you could do a repair. I did the repair and will wait till later to do a restart (I've got about 20 windows open)

well problem solved, for 30 days or so. I downloaded CuteFTP and it works like a charm. May have to go back to IE after the 30 eval tho
