I have two unix servers. From one of them, I am able to FTP onto a WIN NT4 server. But from the other I am not. Where could the problem lie.

I dont have much knowledge of Unix administration but can get colleagues to do the tests for me.

I am interested in the things I should be checking on the Windows side as well as the Unix side.

All three servers are on the same subnet. i have checked the firewall and port settings. All servers are able to ping each other.

What else should I be checking, any help much appreciated.

Where do you get the error at? Is it when you try and login?

I am trying to connect from my Unix server to the NT server and getting the error message:

Connected to abc.xyz.co.uk.
530 Connection refused, unknown IP address.

... even though the IP address is listed in the NT server IIS settings as one of the allowed addresses.

Any more ideas?

Hello,
I also am getting this error message.
Can you advise what the solution was to this please ?
Or what path of diagnostic I should approach it with.
Many thanks
