Is there any file that I have to activate to get FTP working in AIX?

I created a user and the user can NOT do FTP? I have checked... there is no entry in /etc/ftpusers file.

Error: The file access permissions do not allow the specified action.

Also, I want to grant some users write permission to /ediftp filesystem... how can I do that?

Thanks!

The most likely cause of this error is simply that the ftp user does not have write access to the destination directory/file or read access to the source directory/file.

Log into the server as the same user-id. Go to the same directory. If you can get into the same directory, attempt to "touch" a file. If you cannot get into the directory or touch the file, you have a simple directory permission problem. It can be changed with the "chmod" command. As well, attempt to go to the source directory and do a "file <filename>". If you get a messagre "Unable to get file status", you do not have "read" permission on the file/directory.

Bill.

THANKS bjverzal... it was just "permission" issue that you had mentioned. Appreciate it.
