I referenced thread931-1193505

But I don't think it's an exact fit. I've set up an FTP server and there are no problems downloading. I'm trying to set up a login that has rights to upload files.

I took the following steps:
1) created "upload" directory
2) created "ftp" group with Modify rights to the upload dir.
3) created a user and added them to the ftp group

User cannot upload any files.

3a) Added user directly to the upload folder with Modify rights.

Still no joy. Clearly I'm missing something, but I'm not sure what.

Are u using IIS ??

Make sure that u have unticked the Anon user box or all users are ideitified as anon users and they getr iusr_machinename raights to the folder structure.

Either give give anon user modify rights (not rekomended) or un tick the anon check box in IIS and give everyone a user account and create a ftpread group.

Good Luck

IIS - yes.

Well, right now I do want annon users to be able to download, just not upload.

I thought I could do anon - read all you want (down)
but with valid credentials you can read and write (up and down).
