Hello guys,

I'm having trouble with ftp on Red Hat linux.
I can ftp to another machine from my machine,
but other people can't connect to my machine.
No password is asked whatsoever, they just can't connect.

Anyone knows how this comes?

thnx.

Greetz,

ur feedback is a very welcome desire

Check to see if you are blocking port 21 on your server with Redhat firewall.

Do you have an ftp server running and configured? If not you will need to install vsftpd or something simular.

I have just configured a 12/24 DAT tape drive in SCO unix
open server using mkdev, i rebuilt the kernel successfully and tape commands are going through, but the tape drive will not eject the tape and will not read the tape via tar tv8 command, also won't rewind the tape via command tape rewind, plis help

PLEASE do not post a new question on an existing post.
It is rude and has nothing to do with the original question.

Also because you are asking a question about SCO unix you should post this on the correct forum. "SCO: SCO Unix"

While at it mention the tape maker/model, and the SCO version, along with scsi configuration

Thnx guys, indeed , for some reason ftpd wasn't running anymore. But after a reboot (wich I don't do often) it seemed to work again.
fredericofonseca, go easy on kinyanjui123. It was his first question,so he probably just made a mistake. and thnx for answering to him.

Best regards,
