Hi everyone:

On our SCO Server running 5.0.5. Enterprise Edition, with a large number of users telneting in from terminals thin clients, PC's and VPN Tunnels. Whenever our root user tries to FTP files to or from the Server to another host or PC, and multiple telnet seesions are active, the Telent sessions are all disconnected, and all TCP/IP servces to and from the Server (only this server) are not possible. None of our Windows Servers or other apliances seem to be affected by this. It almost seems as though FTP is kicking telent off he system. All tty's on the console still work but nothing remote. Anyone have any ideals??

Thanks in advance.

Intriguing.

Are any of the TCP services still running after this happens? Such as inetd? Does ping also fail?

Do you run routed? You may not need this, and I have had problems in the past where broadcast routes have made it mess up the routing table.

What type of NICs are you using? Annihilannic.
