Hello,
We have a number of Windows 2003 SP1 Web/FTP servers running on the Internet. We have switched from using our Cisco 501 to using the basic Windows firewall because we now have the servers running on different subnets and the 501 only supports 1 external range.
Since these are just basic, low volume web servers the Windows Firewall will suite our basic needs for now.
The issue that happens is that our people that ftp files up and down from the servers are complaining of:
1. it taking their FTP Client a long time to connect.
2. A very long time to display directories and files.
3. A long time to change directories.
4. Frequently getting disconnected during uploads.
If I turn off the firewall all the issues immediately go away.
I have searched on Tec-Tips and googled trying to find a resolution but I'm not finding much.
Can anyone give me suggestions?
Are there any freeware firewalls that run well on Windows 2003 server? That I could use in place of the Windows firewall.
Thank you ,
Steve
