I have setup a RedHat 7.2 box and I am using the ftp client included with the distribution to download several files nightly from a vendors web site.

Since making the jump to RH 7.2, the download fails between 2.6 MB and 3.6 MB every time. I have tried this with other ftp sites with the same results. Additionally, this happens whether connecting by name of ip address.

Any suggestions as to what to check would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Jay

If you are using the plain old command-line "ftp" client, have you tried using ncftp? It's on the distribution, but I do not think it installs by default.

I am having the same problem (I think) as ManagerJay. After a certain amount of download, the ftp client seems to be issuing the PASV command and everything comes to a halt. If I reconnect to the FTP server, everything is fine until the PASV command is re-issued after about 2.5 meg of download.

Anybody?

Thanks,
Faded
