what platform is the ftp server on?
what platform is the data on?
I need to know which platform the ftp server is on and which platform the data is on.
ftp from/to a wintel box is one thing.
ftp from/to an as400 is different.
ftp from/to a mainframe is something else.
the basic commands are the the same, the method of invoking them are different for each platform.
the basic steps are:
open a connection
login
cd to source directory
get or put sourcefile destination file
close connection
exit.
you can automate the entire process and not have to deal with each file/member individually
