Used to Unix and PC,I have tried to create an ftp batch file on my Tiger OSX and use it to ftp to another Unix machine.
It does not seem to work .
I have created a file called "MON" with the foolowing contents:

<username>
<password>
ls
by
==================
and ran ftp:

# ftp <hostname> < MON

I get then a request for the password,which is not taken from the "MON" file.

Any ideas how to run ftp from OSX using a batch file ?
Thanks

Thanks,

it does not help.
On PC/AIX I can run the FTP using the above batch files.
On OSX (Tiger)it looks like the FTP implementation is different and needs a different syntax.
What IS this syntax ?
