I was wondering if anybody could help me. I will try to keep it short and sweet. I open up a command prompt on my 2000 server and FTP to an outside company through my PIX firewall. Then through the internet, connect and login successfully to a UNIX FTP Server, but whenever I try to do a dir, put, etc. it hangs a couple of minutes then gives me this error:

200 Port command successful
425 Can't build data connection: Connection timed out.

PLEASE HELP!!!

The problem is down to the firewall, FTP in active mode requires the use of two ports. One for the initial connection and one for the data connection.
Try using passive mode. Otherwise you may need to reconfig your firewall.
