Do a Kill -9 for that PID. Go to /etc/inet/ Edit the inetd.conf file and comment out the line that starts with ftp. I suggest commenting out any service there and in /etc/services that you do not need. Upvote 0 Downvote

May 12, 2003 Thread starter #3 tuka Technical User Jul 6, 2001 438 US No I am not talking about inetd. My question is acitve/passive ftp connection. I am using Solaris 8 and by default when you connect an active connection is made. I am trying to connect using the passive mode. # ftp host # ftp debug # ftp passive or ftp -p ( I get invalid command) I have seen articles that Solaris 8 support passive ftp mode but I haven't been successful. Has anyone seen a problem with ftp passive mode on solaris 8. Thanks Upvote 0 Downvote
