ft folder in mail directory?

One of my users has a folder in the \domino\mail folder as hisusername.ft.

This folder also contains a UNDX folder with numberoud ftgi000.* files.

Any idea what this is or how it got here???

He has enabled full text indexing on his mailbox. If they click on the search icon, when the entry box shows they can click on the 'not indexed' and choose to index with various options. Alternatively, if the user clicks 'more', they get a button on the screen that offers 'create index'.
