Message ID...CPI5992 or (CP15992)
Message... Device description TAP04 is not usable at this time.
Recovery... Vary the device off and the on (WRKCFSSTS command).
If the problem continues. report the problem. (ANZPRB command)

A machine interface instruction has failed to complete causing device description TAP04 to become partially damaged.

Scenario:
They have IBM LTO5 drives – successfully installed in SL8500 (latest code) with ACSLS (8.0.2)
1. They have a partitioned blade. On this blade they want to install the OS to 2 x VM’s.
There is nothing on the partitions.(AS400 iSeries5)
2. They are using the Flex System Manager (FSM) software.
3. The made a backup to a LTO3 and LTO4 with the images.
4. They can see the drives.
5. The restore/recovery runs, up to internal license and when it must find the ISO to install the OS it fail’s.
I even tried an IBM LTO3 on a drives tray… the same errors.
Does the IBM LTO5 drive support NPIV?
