My company's RH 7.3 server is run for a year without reboot, however it has the following message in the system log:
Sep 20 05:01:13 linux01 kernel: hdc: hdc1 hdc2 hdc3
Sep 20 05:01:15 linux01 kernel: hdc: hdc1 hdc2 hdc3
Sep 20 05:03:43 linux01 kernel: kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
Sep 20 05:03:43 linux01 kernel: EXT3-fs warning: checktime reached, running e2fsck is recommended
Sep 20 05:03:43 linux01 kernel: EXT3 FS 2.4-0.9.17, 10 Jan 2002 on ide1(22,1), internal journal
Sep 20 05:03:43 linux01 kernel: EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
The server is running fine. Should I run fsck?
Is it possible to do the fsck without rebooting the server since the server is running samba as file server and acts as PDC of our domain?
Thanks.
