I'm attempting to upgrade from Solomon 5.5 to 6.0. In the process, I'd like to upgrade from FRX 6.5 to FRX 6.7. I've been advised to export my specification sets and then import them once I have 6.7 running. How can I do this? I'm not very familiar with FRX. I have found the utility under companies where you export F32 files but none of my F32 files have any catalogs that I'm looking for.

I'm not totally sure it's the same in Solomon but you can go to Company-Specification Set. Select one and click Export. Mark all Rows, Trees, Columns and Reports.

It's something like that. You'll understand when you go in there probably.

For what it's worth, this is not the recommended way of upgrading from FRx 6.5 to FRx 6.7. That said, I have done this and it usually works for simpler reports.

This is the way I normally "upgrade". In the past, there were major problems with upgrading FRx. I believe it all works now but I still use this method. I'd say even if you do upgrade FRx through the upgrade process you should still export the specification sets as a backup precaution. These are then non-version specific.
