Frustrating Crystal XI Number Formatting problem

I'm having a frustrating problem with crystal. I have several reports with numeric summaries in the footer. I've reformatted those fields so that no decimals
display. No matter how many times I reformat them and save the report the fields continue to display decimals. Has this ever happened to you? The data
doesn' contain decimals and my crystal default number field setting is no decimals. The only thing I've been able to do is delete these fields and add
new ones, which then work. This is a real pain though!! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check to see that you don't have a formatting formula overriding your formatting:

right-click the field, pick "Format Field", go to the "Number" tab, then click on "Customize", and make sure there isn't a formula in the "x+2" to the right of Decimals and Rounding.

Crystal has separate defaults for number and currency. Is that it?

As dgillz says, you should always give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options.

Madawc is onto something here. Open field explorer, right click the database field item and make sure "show field type" is checked. Then browse to your field. Does it say "number" or "currency" to the right of the field name?
