I'm still trying to get a data connection and just can't get it to work. I do have some general questions that I can't get answered by anyone.
1. I'm working on a windows 95 machine that is networked to a server.. I did this because I couldn't get InterDev working on the server.. So, now I'm confused about where to put the database. I have a mapped drive to the server and am wondering if I should put the database there.

2. What would you recommend using DSN or string connection (looking for the easiest solution since I can't get either to work). And should I add a user dsn or file dsn (and which computer).

This connection is very frustrating.. Hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks

The Access database must be on the IIS server UNLESS the anonymous user (IUSR_machinename) has read/write access to the the Access database on another computer. Remember - the anonymous user will probably not have the disk shares that most other users have - so referring to H:\mydatabase.mdb probably won't work.

The DNS / file DNS etc. is useful, because you do not need to hard code the actual sql server name /database path into the application. Very handy when you move the app to another server. (Content Management)

Thanks for the info everyone. I did finally manage to get it to work by double checking the DSN's on both computers.
