Hi everyone!

For some reason when switching on my machine this morning my mouse pointer has frozen in the centre of my screen. I tried unplugging and replugging then re-starting the machine a couple of times but no luck. I'm running XP and have had no problems to date. To be honest i haven't tried any other options to rectify the problem as i had to go to work, but if anybody has any suggestions it would be great.

cheers

Is the Mouse USB or Serial?

1. Try a different mouse in same port
2. Try the mouse in a different port

The problem could be either the mouse, the usb/serial port or the OS

I have the same problem, I can't seem to fix it.....but its with Windows 98 and its a serial mouse. Scotty Mac a.k.a smaxted

There is a known issue where in some situations, animated cursors can cause this.

Do you have desktop themes doing anything funky with your mouse pointers?
Do you have any graphic intensive wallpaper?

Checking the hardware is always first, as noted in the post above. Kimber
