Hi,

I just activated FrontPage 2000 server extension support and trying to put a simple feedback form on the web and I have mentioned the name of the file where to store results and also the email where the results should be sent to. But when I submit the form than it comes up with this error

Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions' Smart HTML interpreter on this non-HTML page: "
Is there a special way to write such form. I just used the feedback template from the front page.

Any suggesntions?

Cheers!

Aqif,

It is difficult to say for sure what the problem is without seeing the page in question, or the HTML if you are using a local server.

Many times, problems with FP forms come down to missing URLs for confirmation pages, improper file paths, commas instead of periods, backslashes instead of forward slashes etc.

Be sure to verify that the file name you use is indeed located in the _private folder.

In addition, be sure you are publishing to http location and not using FTP to publish to an FPSE enabled site. If everything seems to be set properly in the Form Properties, then you may need to reset the extensions and republish.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal

Thanks Michael,

Your reply was really helpful and I misspelled the file name from htm to html :) (happens all the time) but the Microsoft error was not very helpful...But you guided me in a right direction

Thanks

Cheers!

Aqif,

No problem.

I learned by making more mistakes than I thought possible.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal
