frontpage server extensions

I need to build a website that others can update and maintain in frontpage. I was wondering about frontpage server extensions compatibility - the company I work for has frontpage '98 as the standard app to install. We've decided to buy 2002 ourselves because it sounds like it doesn't mess with your code as much (I'll be building outside of frontpage and bringing it in as I know nothing about frontpage). How will this effect the compatibility with the server extensions? any feedback greatly appreciated!

Yuo can download FP extensions 2002 for free and install them.

But if you are not using FP to publish or any of the components that rely on FP extensions (

- then you do not need FP extensions

thanks for the reply. The people I'll be handing over to will want to publish with fp. Will their 2002 version clash with '98 server extensions? ( to download and install '02 server extensions I'd need to go thru IT ).

I am not certain about FP extensions 98. I only see 2000 & 2002 listed. You really should upgrade the extensions for security measures.

If you are only publishing though via FP 2002, it should not matter though.
