Hi,

I want to merge a completed Visual Interdev solution
with a test Frontpage 2000 web project. I think I successfully imported the Frontpage files into the Interdev project however the FP theme cannot be applied to the ASP pages in Interdev. (I tried the "apply theme" to .asp and .htm pages (right click)in Interdev, the theme name does show in the scroll box with all the other standard Interdev themes, however I see no theme in the view box. ) Am I doing this correctly?

Also, when I am in FP, I can't drag an asp page (from Page view) into the Navigation page and attach "children" pages to it...(.htm pages work fine). An icon (red circle with a line through it) appears. Should I only be creating .htm pages in FP?

Are you supposed to build the site diagram in Interdev?

Thanks for any help!

(I did choose to connect "to an existing web site" when I created the VI project)

Forget the themes (major headache and cheesy-looking), make your own art if you can. There are many pitfalls when trying to use FrontPage and VI on the same project. You should read about that in the help files and at Microsoft's website.

I'm using FrontPage and VI on a project, but I used frames, which I normally despise. But they serve a valuable purpose here. I made all of my navigation pages in FrontPage with the art and what not. These pages are displayed in a top and left frame. Then I make my ASP pages using VI and display them in a main frame. That way you keep FrontPage files out of VI and ASP pages out of FrontPage Editor where they can be damaged. Minimize your dealings with the pitfalls of cross-app page editing and you'll find yourself being more productive.
