i have frontpage 2003 -- is there a setting to do that when I copy and paste from wordpad it should keep the bold and italics?

Hinestly, I think the best method is to take you wordpad, copy it to Notepad and then paste into FP.

In terms of FP2003, I have it but haven't played with it very much.

Under Tools >> Page Options you might select Show Paste Option buttons and when that little clipboard image appears as a result of your paste, try choosing Keep Source Formatting.

The problem with Word and I imagine Word Pad as well, is that it may be placing unnecessary code alongside your FP code and some of this may be redundant.

I believe whenever possible create your text in FP itself.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith
