Hi

This has happened before to me and I can't recall the exact details. In this case I have a website with a Google aerial map and want to add another map on another page. So I opened the web in FP 2002 and copied the map page to another new page. The Google code is inside a table cell and although the table cell and text in the adjoining cell is still there and page colour and header etc and the map shows in preview mode the code has gone from the page! The body tag only has two statements inside -two body bgcolor settings both the same. The head is still there but now has a doctype: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" whereas usually FP webs don't have a doctype.

I have download the page from the server to overwrite the existing file and restarted FP but I still have the same situation - no content! I opened the newly downloaded file with notepad++ and all the content was intact. So for some reason FP is either hiding or has wiped my content!

I also have Expression Web 2 on another desktop and tried opening just the same page with the same result. Except there was a lot of yellow as EW 2 objected to the head statements as they don't conform to XHTML. I also rechecked the file with Notepad++ and it was complete.

Has anyone any idea why this has occurred?

I have also noticed that Frontpage has added blank lines to web pages, and I can't delete them. but at least it adds scroll bars and the code is still present.

I am wondering whether in the case where the code has gone it is something to do with the editor adding this empty space and in certain situations is omitting the scroll bars.

I have done a Detect and Repair on Frontpage.
