Can anyone help me with my Forms page. I have had a contact page up and running for some 2 months and now suddenly this will not email me or store results when submitting the data. As soon as I click submit I get the following error:-

"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly. This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."

My host says it is because I need to publish the pages from FP as he thinks I used FTP to upload the page. So I gave up trying to find the cause and have since recreated a contact form from FrontPage and reloaded my entire web site but still this gives me the same error.

Please help prevent senile demeture from setting in early as I'm still trying to have a life outside of website construction.

Any positive feedback would be welcome,

Regards

The answers they're giving you pretty much mean they don't have any idea what's wrong and don't know how to fix it. Since you've eliminated all the obvious, I'd say your extensions on the site itself might be corrupted. Ask your host to reinstall the extensions and see if that helps.

Please note that one of the things that can corrupt the Front Page extensions on a website is modifying the htaccess page.

Never use FTP to update a FrontPage website it destroys the extensions. You need to have your ISP redo the FP extensions before it will ever work again.

Oh and make sure they use the FrontPage extensions for the version of FrontPage your using. Or better yet have them use the FrontPage extensions for 2002.

I didn't mean to confuse you on the htaccess page--I was just using as an example. The htaccess page allows you to create a customized error page that pops up when a 404 is encountered. I was going to modify mine, until I looked at my host's help on the subject, which had about five warning messages on corrupting FP extensions.

But that's not the only thing that can corrupt the extensions. You'll need to contact your host and have them reinstall the extensions. If they thought you had published by FTP and damaged them, they should have already thought of reinstalling them.
