my pages are looking for files from a hidden folder _derived and it does not show up on my list of folders in navigation view so I cannot change it to "publish". What can I do? None of my themes, graphics or backgrounds are showing up :(

In FP 98 the command to show those files is something like Web Preferences or Web Settings, Advanced, Show hidden files (or directories). You access it from the explorer. In 2000 it is probably similar.

The derived folder should publish whether or not you can see it. If you change the themes part way through creating the site the old files stay in the hidden folders. Generally that's not a problem but FrontPage can be really quirky.

You can view all of your folders and files in Windows Explorer (if you dont' see them look around in the View menu item for hidden files and make sure it's showing you all files) then FTP them to the server.
