Figive me if this is not the right place for this question, I am interested in finding a frontend solution for running reports off an oracle 9i database. We have a number of Access databases only because of the interface (menu, form).
We also have Crystal 9.5 which I have been creating the most common reports and running them through a scheduler daily to a newtwork drive. We don't want to have more users on Crystal but we need an interface that the user can select the reports to run as needed. Any ideas?

Hi skootsu

Have you looked into Oracle Application Express?

New to Oracle, I thought I saw something some where on this, where to start?

Maybe start at the Oracle web site? [3eyes]

Thanks for the pointers. Took your advice and started checking it out, looks very similar to access, nice wizard, short learning time. Haven't yet really seen the 'menu' type interface (form in access). We have an ERP package (Lillysoftware/Visual Enterprise)using Oracle as the database (9i). I need to develop a user interface for the inhouse developed reports and queries. Is this able to fully provide this functionality or will I need a companion piece? So far this is looking great for an I.T. dept. but is it suitable for general users? Since we are a small staff (1 network admin & 1 everything else), I have to focus my development in an area that will serve the most and be able to support. Any suggestions on how I can determine what I should start learning? Trying to keep the number of apps. to a minimum but still give them what they need. One company interface. Any further suggestions along this line?

Hi, skootsu

I would further suggest reading some of the case studies on the site as well as visit the forums.

I believe there is a lot of potential with Application Express.
