When opening a front page file and editing a web page in a file then going back to the what I think is my still open file it is no longer there and I have to go thru all the hoops to get the file again and re-open to edit the next page ect.

It used to allow me to open the file once & then work on any page I wanted without closing the file

Instead of
File > Open

choose

File > Open Site

Thx for your reply....But I tried that and didn't work. I have a file that has an index.html page & a index2.html page That I sometimes have to edit them and the reload up. Example I had a request to change a phone # on & In a file I have called penske-chev is 2 html pages one is index & the other index2 So I open and and edit the 1st one & go back to the file it is no longer to get index2....It makes go thru the procedure of starting over. In the beginning I was able to do it correctly but not now

A page is a file, so when you say that in a file you have 2 pages, what you mean to say is that in a folder, or in a web, you have 2 pages.

I wonder if you just have accidently turned off the display of the folder list so you can only see one file at a time instead of the entire contents of the folder.

Try this: View > Folder List
