Front Page Discussion Web limitation?

My front page discussion board works fine provided I don't have more than 160 files in the _disc1 folder. When more files/articles are added, front page correctly writes to the tocproto.htm file but the "index.html" file fails to "read" and "include" the tocproto.htm file. At this point the board crashes and the only way I can bring it back to life is to delete a few files/articles and recalculate the hyperlinks.

So, is there a file/article limit to the number of files a front page discussion board can handle? Is this clear as mud?

I have a discussion web with more than 200 articles. If yours has an incurable problem, you may need to just start a new one... and reference the old one.
