Hi all,

I realize that the referenced thread is quite old, but I am wondering if anyone has a copy of the tool BobLarson refers to:
I have a free tool on my website that will enable your frontend for auto updating so that all you have to do is change the version numbers in two tables and it will automatically tell the user that their frontend is out of date, close it, delete the old file, copy the new one from your master location, and then reopen automatically for the user. It can be located here:

The site is no longer accessible.

Best regards,
j

Hi,

The link may no longer be available, but the web site is still active.

You will just need to go to the website and find the free tool you are looking for.

Here is a current link that works:

All you need is 2 fields. 1 in the BE (Version) and 1 in the FE (FE_Version)
When the user opens the FE, the two version is compaired.
If the two don't match then need to update the FE then have the FE kick off an update script.
